Paintbox is launching a very chic and modern beauty studio in Soho on Crosby Street in April of 2014. We're looking for a hardworking, motivated GENERAL MANAGER to oversee the operations at the studio, coordinate all scheduling, and manage 15+ employees. We're looking for someone with great taste, a lovely and warm demeanor, who is excited about introducing this brand to the neighborhood. Candidates should have about five years experience in hospitality, beauty or retail industries at an Assistant Manager or Manager level and have an entrepreneurial spirit. The Manager will be helping to set up this new business in preparation for the April opening including setting up POS/booking/CMS systems, scheduling/managing staff and artists and overseeing the customer experience. The space will be very cool and modern yet warm and inviting. The GM will be working with some of the top artists in the industry, creating a first of its kind, elevated service experience. Here are the main responsibilities: * Achieves financial objectives by monitoring annual budget; analyzing variances, maximize results in the area of sales, merchandising and operations. * Maintain positive relations by keeping open lines of communication with team. * Ensure adherence to local licensing board rules and regulations. * Interview, select, and on-board talent for the team. * Ensure consistent and timely opening and closing the studio. * Direct and supervise employees engaged in delivering top-notch services for our customers. * Analyze KPI to create work schedules to ensure appropriate zone coverage. * Keep employees motivated and working as a team, making sure each member of their staff understands company policies and guidelines. * Ensures availability of merchandise and services by maintaining appropriate inventory levels. * Maintain and builds relationships with key brand partners and surrounding stores in Soho. * Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and human resources policies and procedures; and initiating corrective actions.
Experience qualifications: * A minimum 5 years management experience in spa, retail, hospitality, wellness, or beauty industry and Bachelors degree * Strong organizational qualities and confidence, with sound communication and customer service skills. * Previous experience in recruiting, training and motivating staff members. * Proven ability to foster a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie while achieving business goals. * Administrative and computer skills that support accurate and timely reporting, cash collection/reconciliation, payroll management, service and retail inventory management, record keeping, and operation of POS System.
