Last month, I stood behind model Anja Rubik in line at Barnes & Noble -- it was one of the best moments of my life, not just because I was buying some awesome books, but also because Rubik is so gorgeous that to be in her presence is to be #blessed.
Well, in this music video that appeared on the Interwebz sometime yesterday, the gorgeous Rubik is damn near unrecognizable.
I don't know how to explain anything that's happening in this video, mainly because it's in Polish and no one at Fashionista speaks the language -- Polish speakers, a little help here? The song is called "Chleb," which Google tells me means "bread." So, there's that.
Credited to someone called Mister D (and Anja Rubik, obviously), the video cuts from a low-budget reality to a high-definition fantasy. As best I can figure, Rubik plays the fantasy version of the video's protagonist, Dresaria -- mainly because, in the credits, she's called Princess Dresaria.
("More of #Chleb by Mister D and everything that's wrong in our society," the caption reads, so maybe that helps explain what it's about.)
The fantasy Dresaria's outfit of choice: A crop top under a furry vest and a denim skirt over fishnet tights and boots, plus some pretty tacky jewelry and over the top makeup. Oh, and a tiara, natch.
Now, Rubik may have been missing from the fashion scene of late, but we find it hard to believe this is how she's dressing these days. But that's definitely her -- a rep for the model confirms that is indeed Rubik vamping in the vid.
The whole thing is, for a lack of a better word, totally effing bizarre. It's also the only thing I want to watch for the rest of forever. Check it out above.
