Edie Campbell Is the Latest Model-Turned-Editor for Love Magazine
On Thursday morning, stylist extraordinaire and editor in chief of Love magazine Katie Grand took to Twitter to announce a series of new hires at her UK-based publication. One of her new staffers caught our eye in particular: Model Edie Campbell, who was one of the magazine's cover girls -- along with Cara Delevingne and Georgia May Jagger -- for its fifth anniversary issue in the fall of 2013. Campbell has scored a spot on the masthead with the title of senior contributing editor, along with Panos Yiapanis, who was just named fashion director.
On Campbell's hire, Grand said in a statement, "She's a beautiful writer and I'm thrilled she is coming to write for us. She's extremely intelligent and educated and will thus be a brilliant addition." Campbell is the latest in the model-turned-editor trend: Anja Rubik is the founder and editor of her own magazine, 25, Coco Rocha is a contributing editor at PC Magazine and Kate Moss started her stint as contributing editor of Vogue UK this year. So, anyone who still believes the nonsense that models are airheads and should be seen and not heard should probably think again.
We're looking forward to seeing Campbell's literary debut, and to celebrate her appointment, we're watching this adorable video she filmed for Love last year -- before that mental black mullet -- over and over. Enjoy.
