Iconic fashion photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin are moving along towards their professed goal of becoming a lifestyle brand -- perhaps the first photographers to potentially do so.
They've already launched a fine jewelry line, which is carried by the likes of Net-a-Porter, Barneys New York and Colette. They also launched a unisex fragrance in collaboration with Byredo Parfums. And evidently, clothing is next.
Van Lamsweerde told Style.com that an apparel launch is planned for the fall and that, "Similar to our jewelry line, it will include things that we feel like we’re missing."
A rep for the photographers confirmed that while it won't be a full clothing line, an "apparel project" is in the works, the full details of which were not immediately available.
It's hard to predict what Inez and Vinoodh-designed clothing might look like, as the pair's personal style is quite understated. But given their breadth of experience in the industry, working with the most successful and respected fashion houses and publications around, they undoubtedly have quite a bit of knowledge to draw from, not to mention a network of contacts to help them get the ball rolling. Perhaps frequent collaborator Lady Gaga can be their first spokesmodel?
