Despite Kate Upton being arguably one of the world's most recognizable and commercially viable models -- even scoring an elusive American Vogue cover in a time when models on newsstands are few and far between -- she hasn't exactly been racking up the endorsements. But that could all be about to change.
Friday morning, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics announced Upton as its new "celebrity face," replacing another Kate, Katie Holmes. According to a release, the first campaign images will appear on Bobbi Brown makeup counters in July, with ads debuting in the September issues of print mags.
"I know lots of people are happy I’ve found a blonde!" Brown told Vogue (the April issue of which will, probably not coincidentally, "celebrate the meteoric rise of Kate Upton.") The beauty maven went on to praise 21-year-old Upton for being a "real girl" who's happy, strong, smart, open, fantastic, versatile, eloquent, and a "great role model." She should probably stop modeling already and just run for President.
The feeling seems to be mutual: Upton says she's been a fan of Bobbi Brown since way before the Dougie. "My mom used it and my two older sisters used it; it’s been a part of my life ever since I was growing up," she told Vogue. "Bobbi’s makeup is so light, and I’m such a Florida girl, that it just goes along with my lifestyle."
As an annoyingly outspoken Kate Upton fan for reasons I can't quite put my finger on other than us both possessing fairly full bust lines and eerily child-like faces... I personally approve of this union. Sorry, Holmesy. It's been real.
