It's no secret that Kristen Stewart is one of the biggest sneaker enthusiasts in young Hollywood. The actress, who's known for her tomboyish personal style, is rarely snapped without her slip-on Vans -- which she's paired with the likes of Balmain on the red carpet -- or her beloved Converse. On account of her love for this type of footwear, our ears perked up when we heard a rumor yesterday that Stewart was being wooed by Nike in hopes that she'd sign an endorsement deal.
The actress is currently the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance and has been named the star of Chanel's upcoming Métiers d'Art Paris‐Dallas collection campaign (which is due out in May), but a Nike deal is nothing more that hearsay at this point. A rep for Nike told us in an email last night, "Kristen is very talented and we're delighted she chooses to wear Nike, but we're not in discussions with her over an endorsement contract."
Endorsement deal or not, anyone who can wear trainers underneath formal gowns by Marchesa, Roberto Cavalli and J. Mendel and somehow make it work deserves some special acknowledgement.
