UPDATE (9:00 a.m. ET, Mar. 31): Porter has released the Lady Gaga cover (above), shot by Inez and Vinoodh -- the duo that worked with her on the art and film for her latest album "ARTPOP" -- and it captures the pop star in a light we're not used to seeing: Soft makeup, natural hair and a demure wardrobe. Watch a video from the shoot below.
The original story from Friday:
Net-a-Porter's print magazine, Porter -- which just made its debut in February during New York Fashion Week -- is already proving that it's capable of going head-to-head with some of the most established print brands in the world: Supermodel Gisele Bündchen was on the premiere issue, and now the online retailer has announced that Lady Gaga will be the cover star for the upcoming spring/summer 2014 issue.
Porter, which plans to publish six issues a year, just released an update to its #IAMPORTER app, in which readers can take photos of themselves and superimpose some of Lady Gaga's famous headgear -- designed by Philip Treacy -- onto the image to share on social media and build buzz for the issue's release.
Editor Lucy Yeomans said in February that she wants Porter to give readers a more personal look into the lives of the celebrities that are featured -- Bündchen and Uma Thurman had very intimate portraits taken in the first issue -- and we're hoping that Gaga's shoot will be more organic than what we're used to seeing from generally glammed-up the star.
