MAC has a long track record of successful collaborations with today's beauty muses, most recently cemented by the immediate hotcake status of Rihanna's Riri Woo lipstick. But if you ask us, the company has really nailed it with its next partnership. As The Cut first reported, the brand has paired up with witch queen/advanced teen Lorde for a range of makeup slated to hit shelves this summer.
MAC is staying tight-lipped on the details of the deal -- how many pieces will be in the collection, whether there will be finger dye involved, what month it will be launching -- but based on the face chart they passed along, we're pretty sure it's going to hinge on one of the singer's signature inky lipsticks.
The real question here is how we're supposed to keep a deep, dark lipstick from smearing down our faces in the heat of summer. But that's a problem we'll leave for future us.
Kelly and Sharon Osbourne also have a MAC collection coming out this June, so it's likely Lorde's range will debut after that.
If you'd given our 17-year-old selves a go at a professional grade makeup collaboration, there would probably be a lot more glitter gloss and bronzer than anything else. But this is one situation in which we're more than happy to take some beauty cues from a teenager.
