If the Lana del Rey rendition of "Once Upon a Dream" and Angelina Jolie's incredible, Lady Gaga-esque cheekbones didn't already have you very excited for the release of Disney's upcoming film "Maleficent," then this adorable (and very apropos) news certainly will.
WWD reports (and we're working to confirm) that Stella McCartney, who's already achieved success with her super-cute kids' line, is teaming up with Disney and Maleficent herself, Angelina Jolie, for a capsule collection for children based on the movie. McCartney is a self-proclaimed Disney fanatic -- she even had classic characters from "Bambi" illustrated alongside model Sigrid Agren for her fall 2009 ad campaign, shot by Ryan McGinley -- and Jolie personally invited the designer to visit the "Maleficent" set.
The collection, which is geared towards children between the ages of four and 14, will feature styles for both boys and girls, including tees, sneakers and, of course, princess-like dresses. Pieces in the line will be priced from $75, and will be available at the end of April, about a month ahead of the film's May 30th release.
In keeping with Jolie's commitment to giving back to the community, 10 percent of the profits from sales in Stella McCartney stores and online will go to SOS Children’s Villages, which helps to provide care and suitable housing, education and health services for children in need.
The only downside of the collaboration? We're doubtful that the Maleficent dress comes in our size. (At least there's the MAC x Maleficent capsule collection for us.) Watch the newest trailer for the film below.
