Fashion industry insiders have taken to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook in an effort to find 31-year-old Jay Ott (who also goes by James), who was last seen Saturday, March 22 at home in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick.
Ott, a fashion designer, previously worked at The Row and then J. Mendel. According to his LinkedIn profile, he's currently employed as a design director at The Dock Group, a relatively new Los Angeles-based firm founded by The Row's former president and COO, which recently invested in Creatures of the Wind. At the time that investment was announced, The Dock Group was planning to open a design studio/office in SoHo, NY, according to WWD. Ott most likely designs for one or a few of the brands that The Dock Group is backing.
Ott is also co-author of the book "Collective Fashion Wisdom: 90 Questions, 450 Answers, 5 Points of View" (2011, Clerisy Press), which answers frequently asked questions about fashion and style.
He was also the subject of a 2009 story on Stylelikeu, which you can view above.
More information on Ott and who to contact with information on his whereabouts can be found in the below flyer.
