Pharrell Williams is making Kanye West look like a slacker when it comes to piling fashion projects on top of a music career.
Just a few weeks after news broke of collaborations with Comme de Garcons (on a fragrance) and Uniqlo (on T-shirts), Adidas announced Thursday that it's nabbed the "Happy" singer for a "long-term partnership," set to launch this summer.
The collaboration makes sense -- not only because Williams seems to be a big fan of collaborations -- but also because he's been wearing Adidas track jackets almost as frequently as Vivienne Westwood hats, and both are featured in the promo image for the partnership, below.
"Working with an iconic brand like Adidas is such an incredible opportunity," said Williams in a statement. "From the classic track suit, to growing up in Virginia wearing Stan Smiths, Adidas has been a staple in my life. Their pieces are timeless. This is an exciting partnership for both me and for Bionic Yarn."
The collaboration is also unique because it will utilize Williams's fabric company -- yes, Pharrell Williams owns a fabric company -- called Bionic Yarn, which is made from plastic debris found in oceans.
It's also timely given the fashion world's growing obsession with Stan Smiths, which, as you can see in the above teaser video, are a part of the collection.
