As a self-professed Anglophile, I constantly find myself picking up on little Britishisms -- no matter if I'm actually galavanting abroad with my mates (sorry!) friends, or just taking a stroll through the neighbs of NYC. Because, despite what you might think, you definitely don't need a plane ticket to the UK to experience the greatness of Great Britain. All it takes is a sense of adventure, a MetroCard, and a heavy dose of English style -- and luckily, I've got all that covered.
Absolutely dying for a vacation -- but sadly, lacking some vital funds -- I set out last weekend on a mission to find the best of Britain the Big Apple has to offer: A refreshing pint of lager here, some crispy fish 'n chips there, the perfect cup of tea... and of course, the right outfit for the occasion, provided by none other than the UK's own Boden. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the first warm (-ish!) days of spring.
Since I was obviously going to be documenting my little excursion (hey, what's a faux getaway without pictures?), I wanted to look the part of a sophisticated world traveler; smart, but not overdone. I paired a cozy, '60s-inspired stripy sweater with cropped navy pants, a bright green mac jacket and some statement-making patent flats -- I was in for a lot of walking. As for my bag? A two-toned tote was perfect for carrying all my necessities -- plus a few souvenirs along the way! Anyone in the mood for some crisps?
