Victoria Beckham might not be the only design powerhouse in the family for much longer.
WWD reports that David Beckham is looking to start his own eponymous collection of sportswear, and according to the paper, the former soccer star has taken several meetings with Hong Kong-based consumer goods distribution firm Li & Fung. (Li & Fung did not immediately respond to our request for comment.)
Beckham also reportedly has another huge branding asset in his corner: Simon Fuller. The CEO of XIX Entertainment in London, who is the business mastermind behind Victoria Beckham's successful fashion venture, serves as Beckham's adviser.
This new line seems like a natural next step for Beckham: His collections of bodywear and swimwear for H&M have been big successes, he was tapped by British heritage brand Belstaff to create a capsule collection of moto jackets, he's designed shoes for Adidas Originals and he's even partnered with Coty on a line of fragrances. Plus, with at least two budding models in his brood -- his son Brooklyn, 15, just starred on his first magazine cover for Man About Town and Romeo, 11, has already modeled for Burberry -- casting the first ad campaign would be a breeze.
