Opening my closet, it's quite easy to pick out which pieces I bought in previous years, and which I bought only this fall and spring. On the one side, you have colors, prints and lots of skirts of varying shapes; on the other, slim-cut pants, blouses and sweaters in solid white, navy, tan and gray. On my dresser, there are stacks of statement necklaces, which haven't been worn in almost a year. The one rose gold cuff? That has. My return to '90s minimalism is in full swing.
To go with my increasingly understated wardrobe are these navy sandals, which I picked up at J.Crew a couple of weeks ago. (Yeah, I shop there a lot.) I road tested them on a 3-mile walk in Philadelphia this weekend and can now attest that they're pretty comfortable (minus the lack of arch support, something woefully lacking in almost all good-looking sandals). They look as sleek with a summer dress as a pair of cropped trousers. I imagine they'll be my most worn pair come end of summer.
Camden sandals, $118, available at J.Crew.
