Bedazzled sneakers weren't the only controversial aspect of Karl Lagerfeld's spring 2014 couture collection. Many of the dresses had a strange silhouette where the drop waist is ultra-fitted and the chest and hips more voluminous. Though some might question how flattering that silhouette is, Chanel spokesmodel Keira Knightley has embraced it wholeheartedly, having already worn three dresses from the collection -- two just this past weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, which her film, "Begin Again," closed.
While we thought the more ornate dress she wore on the red carpet was a bit...too much...we like this subtler look she chose for the dinner afterwards. It's also worth noting that Knightley has the slender figure to pull off just about any silhouette. Still, critics deigned to call it "uncomfortable," "unsexy" and "unflattering," but seemed to unanimously agree that the above dress was at least better than the dress at right. The takeaway? Less is more, people. Less is more.
What do you think of the dresses' corset-like structure?
