Ever since Celine Creative Director Phoebe Philo was seen wearing Adidas's classic Stan Smith sneakers, the athletic wear brand has been top of mind for the fashion set.
Adidas seems to be taking advantage of its renaissance within the industry: Not long after announcing that it would be collaborating with Pharrell Williams on a line of eco-friendly sneakers and apparel, and that its first sneaker line with Kanye West would be hitting stores in June, the German sportswear company has revealed that it will be partnering with London-based designer Mary Katrantzou on a capsule collection for fall/winter 2014.
Katrantzou is the latest in a growing roster of fashion brands that Adidas has tapped for partnerships in recent months: Topshop, Rick Owens, Raf Simons and longtime Adidas Originals collaborator Jeremy Scott have all lent their design chops to the label. For her collection, Katrantzou will incorporate the bold florals, bright colors and kaleidoscope prints that have helped her to become one of the industry's top talents in the years since her eponymous brand was founded in 2008.
The Mary Katrantzou for Adidas Originals line will be available in November, and, if we had to guess, will be one of the most snapped sneakers at winter Fashion Month.
