Blake Lively sure knows how to wear a dress. Of all of the young actresses in Hollywood, Lively — who's been widely absent from the red carpet scene as of late — stands out as a pro at choosing pieces that hug her curves and are proportioned just right.
Such was the case on Thursday in Cannes, where Lively wore an iridescent gown from the Chanel Couture spring 2014 collection, which has been in heavy rotation lately — Dakota Fanning wore it particularly well earlier this week, and Kristen Stewart gave it a spin at the Met Gala.
It's true that Lively, who's been the face of Chanel handbags in the past, is never really one to surprise us on the red carpet, as her go-to look seems to be a romantic, Old Hollywood-inspired gown with a hint of sex appeal — and this Chanel number (paired with light-pink patent Sophia Webster shoes) is more of the same. Still, you can't argue with how good she looks in this dress. Although we could do without that silk shawl, Lively — in all of her buxom blonde glory — somehow makes it work.
This is what a movie star looks like, people.
