First Look: Public School, Juan Carlos Obando and Marc Alary for J.Crew
For the last three years, J.Crew has partnered with the winner and runners up of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund on capsule collections to be sold exclusively in the retailer's stores and online. It's now the class of 2013's turn: Starting on Wednesday, the winner of last year's $300,000 grand prize, Public School, along with both of the runners up, Juan Carlos Obando and Marc Alary, will debut their signature collections for the brand on pre-order.
Each piece from the range gives customers a taste of each award-winning designer's aesthetic, from Public School's urban, menswear-influenced chambray shirt and mesh tank (as rumored, they did to womenswear) to Marc Alary's nature-inspired jewels to JC Obando's ultra-feminine skirt, which is a nod to his sexy eveningwear collections. Not to mention, they're priced quite a bit more affordably than what these brands usually go for. Prices in the CFDA collection range from $50 to $500, and will be available for pre-order beginning Wednesday on jcrew.com. The official in-store launch date is June 16.
