Katy Perry Covers the First-Ever Global Cover of 'Cosmopolitan'

We think her 53.3 million Twitter followers might have something to do with it.

Cosmopolitan is enjoying quite the renaissance. The Hearst title won an ASME for the first time in 2014, and now it's debuting its first-ever global cover for the July issue of the magazine, starring the one and only Katy Perry.

The singer, who wears a rainbow sequined minidress by Emilio Pucci on the U.S. cover (see right) will appear on all 62 of Cosmo's international editions in a series of fun portraits by Matt Jones. The accompanying interview is by comedian Chelsea Handler, and Perry's designer friend Jeremy Scott poses with the singer -- wearing, of course, one of his fall 2014 creations for Moschino -- on the inside pages.

Perry, who also stars on the cover of V magazine's summer issue alongside Madonna, is bound to be a huge seller worldwide: She's currently the most followed celebrity on Twitter, boasting a massive 53.3 million followers. Cosmo seems to have adopted a strategy of booking social media stars for its covers — Miley Cyrus, Chrissy Teigen, Ashley Benson and Khloe Kardashian were featured in recent months — and if the title's ever-growing web traffic and recent accolades are any indication, it's working.

The U.S. edition of the July issue hits newsstands on June 3. Read on to see a selection of Perry's international covers, and head to Cosmopolitan.com for more.
