Beauty tutorials are big on YouTube — a search for “makeup tutorial” and “hair tutorial” yields more than 5 million videos. In this weekly series, we put a mix of popular and under-the-radar tutorials to the test and show you what’s best.
I once thought Lisa Eldridge's makeup tutorials were impossible to improve upon -- seriously, if you ever have a few hours (and I mean a few hours, she is positively entrancing) check out her YouTube channel for vids on everything from sophisticated work looks to fun festival makeup.
Well, I was wrong, because she recently tapped none other than Alexa Chung to appear in a tutorial on how to get her own signature '60s look -- "My dream makeup!" Chung declares. Eldridge handles most of the work, but then hands the reigns over to Chung to do her own cat-eye flicks that she's mastered so well. It's great for achieving the look, which is perfect for both work and play, but it's also just really amusing to watch thanks to Chung's quips.
Alexa Chung and Lisa Eldridge: Does it get better than that? No, my friends, it does not. We have reached the apex of beauty tutorials. Everyone else can go home now.
