Michael Kors Resort 2015 Is Normcore for Jetsetters

This collection has you covered in any climate.

While I was taking a peek around the Michael Kors showroom during the designer's resort 2015 collection preview, I overheard one of his senior staffers say, "Michael jokes that this season should be called 'destination' instead of resort, because it can literally go anywhere." And boy, she wasn't kidding.

The range that Kors showed is impressive indeed, with pieces appropriate for every climate. The designer has long had the jet set market cornered, and this collection is the perfect example of why: There were feminine, frilly bikinis styled with coats and fuzzy sweaters; suede separates tie-dyed in pastel shades; shearling coats and fur-lined parkas overtop bohemian dresses and intricately embroidered gowns that feel as appropriate for a red carpet event as they are for a Malibu beach party.

Even if you don't consider yourself a jetsetter, there are safari jackets, lightweight cotton bottoms and casual dresses that will make ideal everyday (and go-anywhere) essentials. As for the accessories, Kors showed many of the looks with — shocker — Birkenstock-inspired sandals. His version comes in exotic skins and with jeweled buckles, however, so it's not exactly normcore. In fact, he joked to the editors in attendance that, instead, he's calling it "normkors." Zing!
