As a child of the '90s whose taste in clothing developed during the early '00s — admittedly the blandest of all decades, style-wise — the denim miniskirt is in my mind both a little regrettable and also deeply nostalgic.
Clearly I still carry a torch for Abercrombie & Fitch circa 2002, because I've been looking for a grown-up denim skirt for summer. And this one from Topshop fits the bill.
It might be a little leggy for some offices, but it's not obscenely short, and that's the important thing. Plus, groovy quilting! Pair it with a crisp white button down, and boom: The classic mini gets a cool adult reboot.
Moto Quilted Denim Skirt, $96, available at Topshop.
