Manager, Public Relations, CLARINS FRAGRANCE GROUP (NYC)

This position will act as the primary Public Relations liaison to national and regional press for the Clarins Fragrance Group division.

Clarins, a leading European skincare and luxury fragrance company, is seeking a Public Relations Manager for our New York City Office. This position will act as the primary Public Relations liaison to national and regional press for the Clarins Fragrance Group division: Thierry Mugler fragrances, AZZARO fragrances and MUGLER fashion.


Pro-actively pitch unique and targeted editorial story ideas to the press (print, digital, broadcast TV) regarding existing and new products to elevate brand awareness and increase consumer sales. Strategize and implement programs and events in conjunction with brand goals and departmental objectives. Plan and co-host press events and new product launches. Identify co-marketing opportunities, alternative publicity channels, incoming sponsorship proposals, and make recommendations to the VP regarding brand participation.

Overall Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Assist in creating strategic PR plans to support individual brand objectives.

•Obtain significant national and regional, online and broadcast press coverage and sustain consistent targeted media exposure.

•Organize and execute major product press launches, desk side appointments and special events.

•Develop and create all press materials including writing and editing press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets, media blasts.

•Secure feature stories on Clarins Fragrance brands and heritage, as well as, secure appropriate business features.

•Develop answers to all media inquiries; oversee and execute media requests as it pertains to product distribution to outlets and handle interview arrangements.

•Maintain media lists and contact media database company when alerted to editorial changes.

•Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with beauty press, other media, business and entertainment press.

•Responsible for entries to all awards, including magazines and trade.

•Update and manage very detailed media tracking spreadsheets, recaps, and clippings.

•Bachelor’s degree

•Minimum of 3 years Public Relations experience

Previous luxury skincare, cosmetics or fragrance experience a must

•PR Agency experience preferred

•Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power Point

•Must have excellent relationships with long lead, short lead and regional press, business and broadcast contacts

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
