Terry Richardson Shot Martha Stewart for 'Porter' Magazine

File this under: Things We'd Never Expect to Happen.

Porter, Net-A-Porter's print magazine, has started to tease features from its fall issue, and one of them certainly took us by surprise: Martha Stewart, the 72-year-old domestic and lifestyle maven, gets a glossy, extensive editorial shot by none other than Terry Richardson. Stewart — a former model who was discovered by Ford Models founder Eileen Ford when she was 13 — poses in her palatial Bedford, New York, home in looks by the likes of Burberry, Stella McCartney and Phillip Lim, with her pets (some horses, her chow Genghis Khan and two French bulldogs, Francesca and Sharkey) as co-stars.

The pairing of Stewart and Richardson is certainly an odd one, but considering they've both been scandalized in the media on numerous occasions, it kind of makes sense when you think about it. In fact, the whole arrangement was calculated by Stewart herself.

Porter explains: "It is the first time these two controversy-hounds have met but it is, like so much in Stewart’s life, no accident. After debating over a long list of photographers, America’s house-mother superior insisted that Richardson shoot her. 'Oh, he is cute,' she will say later, when he comes to say goodbye." Whoa.

So, should we be on the lookout for outtakes on Terry's Diary in the coming weeks? In any case, check out the shoot below, and pick up the new issue of Porter when it hits newsstands on Friday, Aug. 1.
