Each season, the British Fashion Council and a committee of industry insiders selects a group of designers to take part in Newgen, a program underwritten by Topshop. The program provides financial support to the chosen designers and opportunities to show their collections at London Fashion Week. The designers are also given space in a designated Newgen showroom to potentially meet with buyers after their shows.
The sponsorship has become a launchpad of sorts for emerging British designers. Past recipients include Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, J.W. Anderson, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Roksanda Ilincic and Simone Rocha.
Needless to say, these next eight designers are ones to watch. Click through the above gallery to find out who they are.
