9 Lessons in Stylish, Conservative Dressing

By Marion Cotillard, Gia Coppola, Chloe Moretz and More

Sometimes, people who work in corporate environments ask me for advice on what to wear in the office. Usually I just feel really bad for them, because I can pretty much wear whatever I want to my job.

However, those people should pay attention now (and also read this post) because a few celebrities this week offered some chic examples of conservative yet fashion-forward dressing.

There was Marion Cotillard's Dior pencil dress with subtle embellishment around the neckline -- a feature that also jazzed up Zoe Kazan's cute-yet-sophisticated Miu Miu blouse. Taylor Schilling made a simple violet Roland Mouret shift look cool by pairing it with bright red python heels, while Chloe Moretz did the same to a pair of simple grey trousers, sporting them with a youthful floral print blouse. Jessica Alba, too, provided a lesson in trouser-blouse pairings. Meanwhile, Gia Coppola wore a conservative version of a crop top with the coolest below-the-knee skirt we've ever seen by Proenza Schouler.
