Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing, luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as an NYC salon and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a university for hairdressers and salon owners.

To this day we are committed to cultivating creativity while remaining deeply and passionately dedicated to the craft, culture and commerce of hairdressing.

Position Summary: We are looking for an intern for the Fall 2014 semester. Candidates should have a keen interest in beauty and be willing to work 4 days a week for pay.

This exciting Marketing Intern role offers the opportunity to gain experience in the North America Marketing team for Bumble and bumble. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Marketing team in the development and implementation of the North America marketing execution in both the Bb.Network Salon and retail channels to maximize the brands’ business objectives.

Marketing Programming Responsibilities:

•Support of various brand marketing programs, including new product launches, product refocuses, inspiration/business building programs, in-store and salon events, sampling, new salon/store launches.

•Participate in marketing planning sessions with the Global team.

•Update Network and Retailer seasonal activity calendars.

•Support on development and Field delivery of seasonal sell-in and product launch tool kits.

•Manage contest prize execution.

•Manage specific salon or retail initiatives as directed by team.

•Gratis execution with Alliance (3rd party distributor).

•Attend weekly NA Design Weekly Meetings

•Request creative assets (e.g. enter creative profiles) for all NA projects and issue visual assets needed for salon or retail promotional programs

•Attend necessary North America Marketing associated meetings and serve on special project teams as assigned, document and track status and next steps as necessary.

Presentation and Communication to the Field:

•Preparation for brand conferences / key retailer meetings.

•Manage comp/sample needs for key presentations and marketing initiatives.

•Preparation of presentations for the Field on retail / salon programs.

Performance / Market / Competitive Tracking and Reporting:

•Update new product launch trackers on weekly basis.

•Salon competitor tracking - monthly insight visits / share findings.

•Pricing analysis / research.

•Maintain sample tracker and usage on monthly basis.

Marketing Team Support:

•Process product gratis orders.

•Translations + maintain translation file.

•Creation of shopping carts for marketing activity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The successful candidate will have strong organization, communication and analytical skills, and a creative, proactive and flexible approach. A good level of computer literacy in Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required. The ability to manage multiple projects, a keen attention to detail and a passion for hair would also be beneficial.
