It might only be the beginning of August, but there's already a trend emerging among the fall magazine covers, and it can be summarized in five words: Gucci looks 37 and 38.
The two closing looks from Gucci's fall 2014 show, white minidresses with crystal embellishment on the bodice, have already appeared on three covers, and we don't imagine that number going down any time soon. Why? Because Gucci has a history of racking up the most appearances magazine covers season after season. It's ruffle-filled spring 2013 collection appeared on 111 covers, its fall 2012 collection nabbed 81 and its fall 2011 covered over 50 magazines – the most covers for a single brand in each of those seasons.
The appeal of the optical dresses is pretty easy to see – they're shiny, simple and universally flattering. For August, W styled Mila Kunis as a '60s icon in the dress. Teen Vogue also went the '60s route for it's September cover starring Kendall Jenner, while Marie Claire chose to outfit Blake Lively as more of a bombshell than an ingenue.
Keep your eyes peeled for more – and we mean much more – and tell us your favorite Gucci cover so far in the comments.
