Interview has finally released its September covers, six in total, that feature a range of celebrities and models from Naomi Campbell to Nicole Kidman.
The 324-page issue is dedicated to photographers, and so the glossy asked six of the most famous photogs to shoot the women they considered the best representation of beauty ... and the results are, as Beyoncé might say, #flawless.
Patrick Demarchelier shot Keira Knightley in black and white, her wet hair dripping down her face. Mert and Marcus tapped their eternal muse Naomi Campbell to pose with thick gold jewelry. Steven Klein asked Nicole Kidman to get racy in fuchsia light. Peter Lindbergh captured a calm moment with Léa Seydoux. Mikael Jansson picked the perfect Daria Werbowy as his makeup-free muse. And last, but definitely not least is a Man Ray-inspired shot by Craig McDean of Amber Valetta, which I think is probably the best – or at least the most captivating – of the bunch.
Of course, wrangling six of the most famous photogs in the world is no easy feat. Interview Editor in Chief Keith Pollock told WWD ,“There were no restrictions. There was a lot of travel. We shot in Sweden, Ibiza, London, Paris, New York. No photographer was in the same place.”
See the covers below and pick up the September issue of Interview when it hits newsstands this Thursday to read interviews with each of the photographers, conduced by their muses (with the exception of Mert and Marcus who were interviewed by their BFF Riccardo Tisci).
