Nicole Richie is back in the spotlight these days thanks to her new reality series "Candidly Nicole," which has migrated from AOL to VH1. It would be a challenge to rattle off a list of the things that have changed in Richie's life since her reality TV debut (alongside Paris Hilton) on "The Simple Life" back in 2003, but her personal style is definitely one of the most notable — and most improved.
The mother of two helped celebrate the release of a new book by interior designer Ryan Korban (the man behind Alexander Wang's enviable offices and retail stores) in Los Angeles over the weekend wearing a silky shirtdress by Anthony Vaccarello, whose barely-there runway looks have become the go-to evening wear for many celebrities and models off duty.
Usually, we equate shirt dresses with daytime lounging or a casual office look, but this one by Vaccarello, with its plunging neckline, gold accents and sexy cutouts, is the closet staple reimagined. Plus, Richie's nude Gianvito Rossi heels and slicked-back, still sort-of-purple hair were the perfect accents.
Richie, as we said, has grown sartorial leaps and bounds since the beginning of her TV career — it's too bad we can't say the same thing for her co-star.
