I am a creature of habit when it comes to shopping, which would explain why I own a very similar array of items that include (but are not limited to) striped shirts, skinny jeans, leather ankle booties, long-sleeved mini-dresses and, my personal favorite, black handbags. I probably have accumulated five or six designer black bags since I've moved to New York — a couple of which are by local designer Reece Hudson — and even though another one is the last thing I need, it's still on the top of my wish list for fall.
While browsing the label's new collection, I came across this small (yet statement-making) crossbody that is different from anything in my collection thus far. It has a thin chain strap that makes it elegant enough for a night out, but its fringes give it that distinct "motorcycle babe" sensibility that I often seek out. Plus, the long fringes are a way for me to incorporate a slightly out-of-my-comfort-zone runway trend into my day-to-day look without being too season specific. I think this bag will fit into my collection quite nicely for years to come.
Fringe Rider Mini Crossbody bag, $695, available at Barneys New York.
