The ideal candidate will have strong and established relationships with key majors such as Saks, Barney’s, Intermix, Scoop and Bergdorf Goodman’s. They will also have experience working with better specialty stores and the ability to work simultaneously across both platforms. International experience and off price relationships are a plus.
- Understand each luxury retailer’s unique business model and effectively communicate the brands positioning within.
-Manage and maintain profitability; sales, discounts, RTV’s, Cancellations and EOS settlements.
-Display superior communication and presentation skills including strong negotiation & persuasion skills.
-Merchandise the collection; identify specific needs by territory and coordinate samples accordingly.
-Clean out excess inventory each season as well as excess fabric through special cuts and recuts.
-Make product presentations and work with buyers to identify seasonal assortment and new growth opportunities within each partnership.
-Anticipate near and long term changes to the business and implement strategies/ plans for success.
- Stay abreast of industry fashion trends with expert knowledge of the women's better contemporary markets.
-Work with design to communicate seasonal performance; act as a liaison between buyers and creative.
-Communicate and track production deadlines; working closely with the production manager to ensure on time and correct shipments.
-Identify and open new account opportunities; grow the account base and overall business from season to season.
- 5+years wholesale sales experience in the better contemporary market working with A+ stores; majors and specialty.
-Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, strong MS Office skills. Photoshop knowledge is a plus.
-Proven relationships with high end Majors; Saks, Barney’s, Intermix, Scoop and Bergdorf Goodman’s.
-Strong retail math skills; must possess the ability to communicate effectively with buyers and planners.
-Strong sales technique and the ability to close deals.
-Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability.
-High energy and a can-do attitude.
-Great attention to detail.
-The ability to up-sell in order to maximize overall sales.
-The ability to effectively cold call.
-A keen eye for merchandising.
