Where was Francisco Costa going to take Calvin Klein after his grungy fall show? To the ultimate in clean minimalism.
For spring, Costa continued his work with knits, subbing fall's nubbly ones for streamlined, metallic options. The silhouette of the collection was long and lean, with tunics paired over long skirts or trousers. A duo of shimmering leather minidresses added a youthful element to the middle part of the show, while a silver option is sure to be on the back of a young starlet (Nicola Peltz, perhaps?) sooner rather than later.
Also hitting a youthful note were the perspex platforms that accompanied nearly every look. While the clear-heeled shoe has a reputation for being a favorite of nightclub performers, in Costa's hands it took a high fashion turn.
While the layered-up styling of the collection might not be every woman's cup of tea, the individual pieces have serious appeal, from the silver belts to the metal-trimmed white column dresses. See the whole collection below.
