Between the attendee list at its Cupertino launch event to the pop-up shop it set up at über-cool concept store Colette during Paris Fashion Week, it's clear that Apple is angling to make big play for the fashion set with its forthcoming smart watch, which is due out in early 2015. It wouldn't be surprising, then, if Apple chose one of today's most notable models to star in the launch campaign. Thanks to an Instagram sent by Liu Wen earlier this week, we have an inkling we know whom it might be.
Wen (hat tip: The Fashion Law) posted a photo of herself trying on a watch at the Colette launch in Paris with the caption, "My second meeting with the Apple Watch, this time in Colette! The first time? Well, you’ll see soon." It's just a hint, but an ad campaign makes the most sense. Wen's commercial appeal is undeniable, but she still has that high-fashion sensibility that solidified her status as a modern day supermodel; recent clients include Tiffany and Co., Coach, Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss.
We'll be keeping an eye out for Wen's work with Apple and will update if we hear back from Wen's agency with more information.
