Chanel isn't the only luxury brand that can show its pre-fall collections in exotic locales (like Dallas).
Raf Simons, who chose Brooklyn as the location for Dior's most recent resort collection, will travel to Tokyo for its pre-fall show, a rep for the French fashion house confirmed Tuesday. The show is set for Dec. 11.
Dior's decision to show in Tokyo is as much (if not more) strategic than creatively driven: The show will coincide with the opening of Dior's new boutique there. It will be interesting to see if and to what degree the city inspires Simons's pre-fall collection, given that Brooklyn had no apparent influence on his resort collection for the house.
