The position oversees luxury fashion and accessories accounts, including fine jewelry and reports to the VP.

A fast-growing, dynamic New York-based Communications, PR, and Marketing firm seeks an Account Director to join a team overseeing luxury fashion and accessories accounts, including fine jewelry. The position reports into a Vice President, with exposure to the firm’s founding partners, Hamilton South and Lynn Tesoro.


  • Execute communication strategies and conduct press outreach to appropriately position luxury accessories, jewelry and fashion brands in the marketplace
  • Secure editorial features and news items, develop story angles, and write press releases
  • Manage 1-2 person staff of account coordinators and managers, overseeing daily product placement and media tracking
  • Secure top-tier media opportunities, including speaking engagements, sponsorship opportunities, award submissions, etc.
  • Manage targeted press events to support seasonal launches, collections, and other brand introductions
  • Interface with client executives as relevant to pursue press opportunities and event logistics
  • Report to Vice President, interacting with firm’s senior executives (including Partners and other Vice Presidents) to solicit brand- and industry-specific expertise

Recommended Articles

  • Minimum 5-6 years experience in fashion and accessories PR & communications, on either brand or agency side
  • Experience in successfully managing a team
  • Relationships with accessories, fashion and lifestyle media (specifically market/ features editors and directors) on both a national and regional level
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and verbal/written communications skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Willing and able to travel internationally 2-3 times a year (ex: Paris Couture shows, BaselWorld, etc.)
  • Experience working in fashion show front and back of house management preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Cision, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Fashion GPS is preferred, but not required
