Everyone has a shopping vice, and mine is the expensive sweater. Honestly, I think I have a problem. Every fall, I find myself lusting after multiple knits in the $800 to $1,200 price range, which is heartbreaking since I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to pay that much for a sweater — no matter how deliciously soft the cashmere is, or how incredible the intarsia knitting is.
While doing a bit of seasonal shopping over the weekend, I came across this cropped turtleneck sweater by Rag & Bone that's just on the cusp of entering "too much to spend on a knit" territory, but I might have to break my own rule for this one. The cream color is just so pretty, and the sporty stitching makes it more unique than your run-of-the-mill chunky pullover. I've been going back and forth about whether I can pull off a turtleneck, but this top convinced me that I can: Wearing this feels akin to a built-in cozy scarf that you don't have to take off indoors.
I know I can count on this piece to keep me toasty through what will likely be a hellish New York winter, and that's definitely worth a bit of a splurge.
Rag & Bone "Cece" sweater, $350, available at Matches Fashion.
