Eliza's Simple Black Turtleneck
Despite growing up in chilly New England, I am a recent convert to the world of turtlenecks, having finally realized that they're a great way to not lose scarves throughout the winter months. While I have a few chunky knit ones, I'm particularly attached to the black cotton version I found at Uniqlo. It makes me think of Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face," which is essentially the height of aspiration.
You can tuck it into a sleek little skirt, wear it with some high-waisted jeans, layer it under a dress, whatever. It's classic, flattering, and, best of all, super cheap —meaning you can stock up on a whole stack of them like you would white t-shirts in the summer.
Supima Cotton Turtleneck, $12.90, available at Uniqlo.
