Katy Perry pulled off her particular brand of quirky-meets-sexy today in Sydney at the ARIA awards. Wearing an elaborate, shimmering crop top and skirt combo from Australian designer Jamie Lee Major, Perry looked resplendent as she made her way down the line of fans and photographers.
I've always loved Perry in dark colors — it balances so well against her pale skin and jet black hair (that is, when her hair isn't some crazy color). So, I especially love the berry lip and strong cat-eye liner with her multi-bun updo.
Her headband is the perfectly Perry-esque final touch: from a distance it kind of looks like an homage to Rosie the Riveter, but up close it's quite girly. The flat bow is both simple enough to not overpower and shiny enough to pull the look together from head to toe. She may have lost to One Direction for "Best International Artist," but man, did she look good doing it.
