Rihanna Channels Olivia Pope, 7 For All Mankind and Giambattista Valli Team Up

And family and friends of designer Jay Ott organize a scholarship in his memory.

Rihanna’s return to Instagram continues to be a treat. During a recent visit to The White House the singer posted several pictures of herself channeling Kerry Washington’s "Scandal" character Olivia Pope. Captions included  "'CYRUS!!! LET ME IN!!' #DayAtTheWhiteHouse" and “#heyAbby.” She may not have quite the same style as Olivia Pope but if things were going down, we trust that RiRi would 'handle it.' {Instagram via Popsugar}

Seven For All Mankind has tapped French couturier Giambattista Valli for a co-branded spring collection that will feature high-waisted jeans, animal print and dressy t-shirts. The premium denim brand has a history of high fashion collaborations with designers like Emilio Pucci and Zac Posen that help create brand-building opportunities for both parties. The collection will be rolled out in two parts starting in February and then in May of 2015. {WWD

Calvin Klein's latest underwear ad has drummed up a ton of debate about what plus-size really is after placing a size 10 model in a campaign. The model being discussed, Myla Dalbesio, went on the "Today Show" to defend the label, saying she felt the response was unfortunate considering that Calvin Klein did something groundbreaking by releasing her photos and not "making a fuss" about it. {TODAY Style}

Friends and family of Jay Ott are trying to raise $50,000 for a scholarship in the late designer’s name at his alma mater, the University of Cincinatti. Ott graduated from the university’s design school in 2006 and worked at labels like Ralph Rucci, Stan Herman, The Row and J. Mendel before his last position as design director for Crippen and Rosetta Getty at The Dock Group. According to a friend, before his disappearance and death earlier this year, Ott expressed interest in giving back to future design students. {WWD}
