I am terrified of winter weather's destructive effect on my skin, but if there is anything that can stand up to wind burn and over-eager radiators, it's this pot of goo. The active ingredient is petrolatum, which is what creates the impenitrable barrier of moisture when applied. Since it's so thick (and shiny), I use it as an overnight weapon on chapped lips, peeling cheeks and even patchy elbows and knees. I basically just smear it all over my face, and when I wake up, all of those problem spots are neutralized and returned to baby-butt levels of softness.
Some people complain it causes breakouts, so proceed with caution if you've never used it before. I am very acne prone but have never had a problem — in fact, it's even helped my acne scars go away. I'm serious, it's magical.
