A Carey Mulligan red carpet appearance is rare these days, so we get a little extra excited whenever we see her smiling face pop up as we're scrolling through event coverage.
Lo and behold, the actress was on hand for ASMALLWORLD's 10th Anniversary Winter Weekend Gala in Gstaad, Switzerland — along with other fancy folks like Dianna Agron, Magdalena Frąckowiak and Anja Rubik — and the gown she chose for the occasion was nothing short of spectacular. Mulligan (who has a couple of film projects due out in 2015) wore a red, kaleidoscopic leopard print dress by Alexander McQueen that was positively regal.
While we might not have gone with the chain-lined clutch to accent the dress (it seems a bit casual in this situation), we love how she kept the rest of her look extremely minimal — a bit of gold Maiyet jewelry, a messy updo and barely there makeup to sweetly complement the gorgeous gown. We hope we don't have to go the entire red carpet season without another appearance from Mulligan, but if that's the case, this show-stopping ensemble will hold us over for a while.
