Kris Jenner Stars in 'Love' Advent Calendar, Model Diversity Still Low On Magazine Covers

Plus, Kendall Jenner wins the Internet and Kering shares take a hit after top Gucci employees step down.

It looks like Kris Jenner is trying to keep up with her model daughter. Just a few days after Kendall starred in day eight of Love's sartorial Advent calendar, the Kardashian/Jenner matriarch has stolen the spotlight as lady number 15. We wonder what North West thinks of her grandma’s dance moves — watch the video below to decide for yourself. {LOVE}

As hard as Kris tries, however, she won’t be able to compete with Kendall when it comes to being the most popular model of the year. The 18-year-old has been crowned Tumblr’s most re-blogged model of 2014. The relative newbie (this is just her second year walking Fashion Week shows) beat out ubiquitous superstar and bestie Cara Delevingne, as well as other heavy hitters like Karlie Kloss and Miranda Kerr. {Daily Mail}

Even with models making a major resurgence on magazine covers, the amount of diversity on such covers has made little progress in 2014. According to a survey of 44 major fashion magazines, out of 611 total covers this year, white models were featured 567 times while models of color appeared 119 times. The exact breakdown of those 119 appearances shows black models leading with 60 covers, asian models close behind with 53, 4 latin models and 2 of other race. Looks like we have a long way to go. {The Fashion Spot}

The news that Gucci’s CEO and creative director are stepping down has already made waves for parent company, Kering. Shares for the French luxury conglomerate dropped 2 percent after the Friday announcement, trading down 1.5 percent at 156.50 euros, or $194.56, on the Paris Stock Exchange. {WWD}
