Eliza's Casual Take on Winter Whites
I've been a big fan of YMC (You Must Create) since discovering the London-based brand in a boutique and realizing that all of the best stuff on the sales floor had its name stitched into the neck. It's all very cool and minimalist, but a little weird and, unlike me, unafraid of bright color.
I find this two-tier sweatshirt particularly appealing. It also comes in black, but white seems like the more festive choice when there's snow on the ground.
Here's why it wins: It has a simple, boxy sweatshirt shape, a slightly unconventional high neckline and then that funny little double layer cutting across the middle. The trompe l'oeil long-sleeve-under-short-sleeve look is vaguely reminiscent of a hockey player's uniform, and if I were the manager (stylist) of a sports team, I would almost certainly make them wear these.
In the meantime, I'll probably just buy one for myself.
