'70s Vibes Dominated the Red Carpet This Week
Clearly, Hollywood stylists are catching onto the whole '70s thing that's happening right now, with high-waisted pants and silky boudoir-inspired gowns making the red carpet rounds.
Elle Fanning, who was born decades after the '70s, probably looked the coolest in a Rodarte turtleneck and wide-leg trousers. We also loved Jennifer Conelly's cozy, casual Louis Vuitton intarsia sweater and jeans, worn at Sundance.
On the more formal end of the spectrum, there were Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cate Blanchett, both of whom wore satiny gowns that resembled '70s nighties (in a good way) by Autograph and Alexander McQueen, respectively. Getting even fancier, Felicity Jones chose a subtly retro long-sleeved, floor-length Valentino number for the Producers Guild of America awards; and Jennifer Lawrence wowed in an almost Grecian- looking Prada dress with a plunging neckline that would not have looked out of place in the disco era.
