On Tuesday morning, fashion week woke up to a swirling snow shower in New York City, leaving a few solid inches of white powder on the ground.

This didn't stop some desperate people from wearing sandals and bare legs to the shows -- those people will never be deterred by weather -- but the best looks from Tuesday had cozy, comfy vibes, featuring fur jackets, smart pea-coats and quite a few duck boots. A preference for denim continues, as bloggers and editors take the winter weather as an excuse to wear loose-fitting or embroidered jeans.

Pink coats are more of an anomaly this season, replaced yesterday by a bold contingent of red ones in all shapes and shades, and two brave instances of bright yellow and bright green outerwear. Coats in more traditional colors relied on elegant (and warm) fabrics to make a statement -- no candy-colored fur needed.
