Ever since Stella McCartney introduced her slimming, optical illusion design, we've seen it -- and its many copies -- on the red carpet more times than we care to count. But somehow it looks new again on Helen Mirren, who wore a gown by Carmen Marc Valvo Monday evening at the Roundabout Theatre Company's 2015 spring gala in New York.
The combination of delicately beaded cut-outs and elongated sleeves makes for a dress that feels at once fresh and timeless. Mirren's large yet tasteful diamond earrings help to bring out the dress's sparkle, making for a look that we're sure turned more than a few heads throughout the night.
The actress has been killing it on the red carpet lately in styles made even more fabulous by her innate confidence. She remains an inspiration to us all.
This article was updated to reflect that Mirren's dress is by Carmen Marc Valvo, not Stella McCartney.
