Eighteen-year-old singer Lorde has been making the Fashion Week rounds in Paris like an industry bigwig: Not only did she arrive at the Dior show with Kanye West and have a front row spot, but she was seated next to Cathy Horyn at the French label's dinner the same evening, holding her own in conversation with the fashion critic. It should come as no surprise that the young Grammy winner from New Zealand knows her stuff — she's covered dozens of magazines, has blown us away with her red carpet choices (in collaboration with stylist Rebecca Grice) and has designers like Chanel, Proenza Schouler and Narciso Rodriguez reaching out to dress her.
Despite the fact that many of her looks tend to veer towards the darker, more menswear-influenced side, Lorde sat front row at the bohemian, '70s-inspired Chloé show on Sunday, and we loved her easy, feminine ensemble. In her roomy navy trousers and white embroidered blouse, the New Zealander oozed that effortless French chic that's much more difficult to pull off than it may appear. Though she kept her shoes simple with some strappy black sandals, a pair of chunky metallic bracelets and a Chloé bag (naturellement) with a gold chain added an extra element of elegance. Plus, it was refreshing to see her wearing something in a lighter color palette — though we will never tire of her signature berry lip.
