In spring 2016, Jelmoli will open the biggest shoe department in Switzerland – Therefore, we are looking for a:

Buyer Women Shoes, 100 %

Your tasks

  • In this challenging function (as a member of the management team) you are responsible for the complete initiation and realization of this key project
  • You analyse the market in Switzerland as well as abroad and in close collaboration with our executive committee, you create our new shoe portfolio according to the latest market trends
  • Your strong negotiation skills enable you to build long term relationships with our vendors and therefore continuously optimize the purchasing conditions
  • In addition, you ensure an impeccable store-management (margin, inventory turnover, stock) and you are in charge of the budget (topline, costs, margins and discounts)
  • You act as an interface among the buying department and our Floor Manager and will report directly to the executive committee

Your qualifications

  • For this challenging position we require a senior buying experience – particularly within the shoe segment and a deep know-how of the retail business
  • You rely on a very good international network within the shoe segment
  • Besides of this, you strongly identify with fashion and lifestyle
  • You have strong presentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English or French. Basic knowledge of German or Italian would be an asset.
  • We rely on your strong analytical skills and proven business economics know-how as well as your willingness to travel
  • Proactive, committed and with very good negotiation skills, you are able to take responsibility for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with our suppliers as well as your internal stakeholders
