Kerry Washington is a style darling, and it's not hard to see why: She's unafraid of taking risks, which she usually nails, and everything looks amazing on her.
For the The Paley Center for Media's tribute to African-American achievements in television in New York City on Wednesday, Washington stepped out in an all-black outfit. It's a bit unusual for the actress, who usually prefers color, but once again it's a perfect look. The trick here is keeping visual intrigue and incorporating different textures. New brand Self-Portrait, who designed her dress, has recently become a red carpet favorite, and it's clear why it's such a hit among celebrities: His dresses hit the right combo of structured and feminine, sexy and covered.
Washington pairs the look with black heels and a plum colored lip, playing up the slightly goth feel of the dress. It's from the fall 2015 collection, and considering that Self-Portrait is actually sold in stores and semi-affordable, it's possible you could even get your hands on Washington's look sometime soon.
